Movile and Cyclelogic, both operating in the segment of added value services to cell phones, have announced today the merger of their operations in Latin America. The group will the continue operating under the brand Movile in seven countries in Latin America. Movile has been backed by the South African media group Naspers as the main stockholder since 2008 and, upon such transaction, is consolidated as one of the leading companies of entertainment services through cell phone in Latin America.

In Fabrício Bloisi’s view, the company CEO, the cell phone service segment has huge potential as most of the world population will gain access to Internet and its communities through their cell phones within the next five years. “Mobile Internet will be larger than the conventional Internet, particularly in emerging countries. The new Movile is very well prepared to contribute to such future throughout Latin America”.

As a result from the merger Movile now relies on more than 200 employees based in its nine offices spread over Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia and Venezuela. Movile is connected with more than 36 carriers that hold, jointly, more than 465 million mobile subscribers throughout Latin America.
